"Button and Blue" Essay Wins Writer's Digest Award!
I'm thrilled and honored to announce that my personal essay, "Button and Blue" has been awarded 7th place out of 846 submissions in the prestigious Writer's Digest magazine's Personal Essay Contest as announced in their most recent May/June 2024 issue!
This really is special as "Button and Blue" was written from the heart and about the final days of sorting through my mother's things after her passing. I hope you enjoy it!
And always remember, even the smallest moments mean something and become tomorrow's memories that help to sustain us and move us through grief. And, always, look for the
"pearl button" in every day things.
I've slowed the video, but you may have to pause it for optimum reading.
This blog post is dedicated to the beautiful wearer of "Button and Blue" ~ my now-angel Mom.

I also have another blog I have just celebrated my 14th anniversary writing ~ "FiveSibes," where I write all about my FiveSibes, the Siberian Husky breed, Canine Epilepsy, and all things K9! Come visit if you haven't already!
Until next time,
